From Livorno to Piombino, through Castiglioncello, Rosignano, Vada and Baratti, the Etruscan Coast is a charming territory rich in rocky beaches and long sandy beaches.
The promontory of Castiglioncello is pretty much known for the numerous access point to the see. The water is really clean and transparent, especially near the rocks, and is ideal for snorkeling.
Between Rosignano and Vada there are instead long white beaches, a unique example in Tuscany. At least 4 km of coast with low and calm water that makes you immediately think about the landscapes of Caribbean.
The Gulf of Baratti has even longer and charming beaches. In fact, a short distance from the coast you can visit some ancient etruscan necropolis, medieval fortresses and panoramic villages.
Behind the beaches of the Etruscan Coast there is a wild pine forest separating the sea from the countryside and the towns inland. This thick mediterranean vegetation is crossed by trails and dirty roads that are ideal for bike tourism, mountain bike, running and is even perfect for pic-nics and walkings in the hottest hours of the day. The pine forest is particularly striking between Marina di Cecina and Marina di Bibbona.
